Sienna Miller Doesn’t Believe in Monogamy & Hates Pittsburgh Within the first nine months of 2006, Sienna Miller, 24, had already shot five independent movies. In the new issue of Rolling Stone, Miller talks about two of her latest -- The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (or "Sh-tsburg" as she calls the town), and how she channeled Andy Warhol’s tragic muse, Edie Sedgwick, in Factory Girl.
But it's not all shop talk. She also shares her perspective on monogamy after on/off boyfriend Jude Law was caught getting himself a little punanny on the side last year.
The rest of the interview is on newsstands now, but here's a sneak peek:
On being faithful:
“I don’t know, monagamy is a weird thing for me. It’s an overrated virtue, because, let’s face it, we’re f-cking animals.”
On being famous for being Jude’s girlfriend:
“Everything happened in the wrong order. You become known for being someone’s girlfriend, and all of the sudden there’s all this hype and buzz for all the wrong reasons.”
On destiny:
“I’m a big believer in positive thinking. Some people think destiny’s crap, but I’ve willed myself to do most things I wanted.”
On worrying she’s getting too old for “youth films”:
“It’s so hard for women in the business. And I want to be doing this when I’m fifty.”
On family:
“I can’t wait to have babies. Jude has three children, and I have never tried to be their mum or anything, but I’ve had the benefit of living with them and loving them without being the parent. But I love the idea of being a working mum and having my kid on the set.”
On her “really liberal” parents:
"Our house was always full of artists and musicians, and I knew from the start my parents were naughty and did things that other people’s didn’t. But it’s great to know that you can go to your parents and say, ‘I’ve done some things you wouldn’t be proud of me for,’ and they can say ‘I’ve done the same thing.’"
she really comes across as such an immature little girl.....
its sad.....
i dont know if this 'we're f*cking animals' thing is just a coping mechanism....
some kind of response to her boyfriend sleeping with another woman....
or if maybe they're two peas in a pod and she would have done the same thing....
in which case, there's no room for 'oh poor sienna', because she seems to be quite at peace with the idea....
ugh i dont even know why i bother reading this stuff.....
I dunno, I like her. I agree with a lot of what she says, and like her, I believe you can do anything if you just believe in yourself.
I don't understand, and have never understood, why she's this lightning rod for hatred. She's just a pretty young actress doing the best she can, who happened to fall in love with Jude Law. Yeah it got her fame, but she's also now famous for being cheated on - and he cheated on her with his nanny. That's pretty embarassing.
I'm looking forward to Factory Girl. I think she's got talent, and I think time will tell. All this finger-pointing and scapegoating of her will fade away, and people will see she's a genuine talent, and a cool girl.

i dont hate her.....
and i dont blame her for falling in love with jude law....
in fact, until this little snippet of an interview, ive really felt completely neutral about her behaviour....
but she just comes across as completely immature and brash....
it would be nice to see a bit more humility and a bit more grace...
but thats just my feeling.....

^^ I agree 100% with you adorefaith... couldn't have put it any better.
The quote "let’s face it, we’re f-cking animals" is utter bull****. I don't buy that way of thinking for a minute.
I thought she was really good and cute in Keen Eddie (my liking a show invariably results in its untimely execution but have disliked her in everything else. She does seem flakey and shallow in this interview, kind of like a teenager who thinks they know everything or are the first to discover some momentous, shocking truth they just have to impart to us.

I agree with you on the humility and grace part. I guess that's why we really shouldn't know about actors or actresse's personal life. We have to separate their talent from what they do behind closed doors. Just like Jude, I really hated him after the whole nanny thing but I think he's one hell of an actor. I like Sienna's style and there are interviews that she has had that I thought she was really awesome in. Oh well. At the end of the day, I know who I am and where my place is. Unfortunetly some actors and actresses don't because they live in this high paced life of greed and money.
I guess she doesn't sugar coat things.

Thats a surprise, they have made up a headline that she didn't even say
I don't see how she is coming across as immature or full of herself though, she is speaking her mind, which is better than all the lies that come from most of hollywood.
I can't wait to read the whole interview.
I've never liked Sienna Miller. In fact, I often don't look at photos of her because... I simply don't care. She doesn't come off as a terrible person to me, but there is something that I just don't like about her. Maybe it IS her frankness, I'm not sure.

Me neither.

That's b/c she got cheated on and keeps getting back with the WRONG guy.
A lot of people have their opinions - and if you don't want to be tied down - then that's your prerogative. But going through life not believing that anyone can be faithful to you is *no way to go through life.*
Despite what people think, we all need that "special" person that we can fully trust. I firmly believe that. And if you can't trust them, they're just not the person for you, that's all.
