They have long said they had no plans to replace Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, but the two surviving members of TLC are looking for a temporary fill-in for the rapper who died in a car crash more than two years ago.
Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, 33, and Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, 34, have hooked up with UPN for a reality series aimed at finding someone who can perform with the group, The Hollywood Reporter said.
"We want to find someone with the right chemistry and magic to work with us," the duo said in a statement.
"We have been blessed with great success, and this is a chance for our fans to join us as we give someone a chance in a lifetime opportunity to fulfill their dreams."
The singers are being careful not to say the new person will become the third member of TLC. In fact, the show is being called "R U the Girl With T-Boz and Chilli."
In the show, T-Boz and Chilli will judge a group of wannabes who go through weeks of training to see if they have the right fit. The winner will get to join the duo for a concert and recording session.
UPN reportedly has approved eight episodes of the project. Casting and production of the series is expected to begin early next year and there is no word yet on when the show will air.
Grammy-winning TLC, one of the best-selling female groups of all time, is known for their hits "No Scrubs," "Waterfalls" and "Creep."

I think they know that left-eye can never be replaced at heart but if they still want to be a trio well they'll have to find someone, and it will be sad because people, some boneheads will always say"You'll never be anything like left-eye,"
for real oh I didn't know, what a surprise!
Oh brother, all of this reality crap. I have CrazySexyCool, and I used to like TLC and all that, but I think this ship has sailed. I'd like to see them prove me wrong, though.

The ship has indeed sailed. Moreover because of that, TLC has become too well-known (past-wise) to make just someone from a reality-TV show replace 'Left Eye."
