Poor old Sir Anthony Hopkins might've become a household name thanks to Hannibal Lecter but the part also cost him the love of fine woman.

American sweetheart and domestic guru Martha Stewart ended her relationship with the Welsh actor because she couldn't separate the infamous cannibal serial killer from Silence Of The Lambs from the actual person: "I couldn't get past the Lecter thing."

Martha told Howard Stern's radio show: "Oh, I loved him, but he was... scary. I was going to invite him up to Maine; I have this beautiful home in Maine... but then I reconsidered because I saw that movie again. Do you want someone eating your brain while you are sitting in your beautiful dining room in Maine?"

Fortunately Hopkins found love with third wife Stella Arroyave in 2003.

Martha Stewart isn't that bad looking, really. She used to be a model, so I can see why someone would find her face attractive....but how do you get past the creepiness that is Martha? She seems to act like a zombie all the time (course she did make that funny Letterman joke when she got out of prison).

I'm always amazed to hear that Martha actually has a love-life. Even without the whole prison thing, Martha is a huge force to reckon with. Talk about Type-A personality all the way.

She should seriously be slapped for a comment like that. How stupid and petty! Hannibal Lecter was a character Hopkins played in a movie...he is an actor as his occupation. So what about a woman who dates a doctor? He cuts people open for a living. How dumb!
