Polaroids

I did a search and found no threads related to polaroids, but I've always been so fond of these cameras. The pictures produced are so raw, and you can achieve amazing effects naturally, which is something that can truly be appreciated even more these days when the same effects can be done with a few clicks of the mouse.

All photographs are from http://www.plrds.com

Greeeeeeat thread, Cosette!! I love polaroids . I really like the first two pics - the colours are nice and it has a sort of eerie vibe to it. I think all the colours that are captured instantly with a Polaroid are amazing..... I just recently found an super dooper old Polaroid Portrait camera at work . Hopefully, I can 'borrow' it for a little while.....

Thank you aquarius!
The first two pictures are favourites of mine, too - do you by any chance know how these effects are done? I know of one where you can press your fingers and bend the photo to create various results... but I guess putting it under limited lighting can change colours and such? I haven't had much experience with this sort of camera, but these pictures are inspiring me to experiment...

Oh and I would say definitely borrow the camera...

I wouldn't have a clue !! It could have something to do with the natural lighting at the time the photo was captured or perhaps even the age of the paper inside the camera (or maybe even the age of the camera itself).

The colours captured in the "Shawshank Prison Cell" by Brian Bookwalter are amazing and the whole thing looks almost like an artwork to me.....

Well, I'm gonna see if I can borrow the Portrait Polaroid from work and I might ask about how those colours and effects are achieved .

love polaroids .... super thread cosette. The other thing you can do with polaroids is peal the top layer off and it leaves a really cool werid print underneath ... kinda hard to explain ... well it used to.
Im tempted to dig out my old polaroid ... the only probalem is tracking down films ... do they still make them. I can remember them being expensive and impossible to find ... gotta new mission now lol xxx

Polaroid film is much easier to find now that it's become "popular"
