Hollywood stylist Rachel Zoe has dressed the likes of Demi Moore, Liv Tyler and Jennifer Garner, but she tells Rachael that you don't have to have movie star bucks in order to have movie star looks. "Some of the people I know with the most incredible and individual styles are people with very, very limited budgets," she says.
To prove her point, Rachel comes to the rescue of Shay, a desperate mom who admits that she was a pretty trendy dresser ... until she had kids. "I just wear the mom stuff now," she complains. "Even my daughters have classier clothes than I do!" Shay wants to look more like Kate Hudson, but without the thousand dollar price tags. Rachel finds her an outfit similar to one worn by Kate, but for the shockingly low price of $79 -- including accessories!
"You start with your inspiration, like Kate Hudson," Rachel explains, "and then you do what you're comfortable with. The great thing with a knee-length, black one-shoulder dress is that you could wear that a hundred times and accessorize it differently each time. You can wear it with flats or with boots, with or without a belt, change the jewelry, put your hair up -- it's going to look like a completely different dress."
After Rachel demonstrates two more looks from Anne Hathaway and Cameron Diaz that can be imitated for a fraction of the cost, Shay receives a surprise gift from Rachael to help get her started on a new wardrobe -- a $1,000 gift card to Kohl's!

Okay so I just watched The Rachel Zoe Project and I'd say that she seems nice. I was actually quite surprised because I thought she was this biatchy snobby kind of lady as she is presented by the tabloids... but she proved the viewers wrong. Hopefully she's not faking it as I am starting to like her. I especially love it when she kids with Brad and Joey. And her shopping problem is way too hilarious, I could so relate!
