Wow, I guess I'm really sheltered 'cause I had no idea there was a Playboy France. I mean, why wouldn't it be, but I just never even thought about it being in other countries.
It's everywhere - last time I looked, if you go to the official site, you can see covers from around the world, which gives an interesting take on different tastes (and art direction).

Well, the first issue of Playboy France was published in 1973, so France has had its own Playboy for quite some time now
But from what I've read, they've changed the whole staff and the 1st issue from the new direction will be this one, and from now on, Playboy France will be more about fashion and will feature work from fashion photographers (which is gonna be a nice change, because i wasn't really interested in playmates on the covers, photographed by awful photographers)

I've just found out more info :
The new editor-in-chief is Yan Céh.
Frédéric Beigbeder, Nick Kent, Frédéric Taddéi, Eric Revel, François Bégaudeau, Rebecca Leffler, Eric Dahan, Olivier Zahm and also Justin Timberlake are contributing writers of the new edition.
October's Playmate, Tuuli (Storm Models), is photographed by Rankin.

Wow. This looks beautiful. I have always thought that magazines like Playboy and the like would be benefited by an artistic and classy touch. Seems like this will be along that vein. The human form is so beautiful, it should be treated with a level of respect. Hopefully these pictures will reflect that.
I wonder where I can purchase this in the US. Though wow I've never bought a Playboy before it might be kinda awkward.

Sounds like they are going for a nice direction...the American Playboy is just trashy and stereotypical...I don't buy or read Playboy but I do love seeing old Playboy magazine covers from the 60s and 70s.

I love her, she's wonderful, so talented and her body is just AMAZING. I'm not surprised she's doing nudity, I think Lila Dit Ca expressed clearly that she's not afraid of being "explicit" sometimes.. I'm just surprised she's doing Playboy!.. but it seems like she's under the right hands.. Karl might be pathetic as a designer but you could never blame him for doing vulgar photography.
having said that, I don't like the styling of the cover. it makes her look so old and 80s.
the french like beautiful things so this is no surprise, i guess!
(not that i consider karl's photography beautiful, im talking about fashion photographers in general)

Karl Lagerfeld once said “pissing everywhere isn’t very Chanel” when he talked about the men’s toilets in Chanel Paris. Well, is shooting for French Playboy magazine very Chanel?
