If I hadn't seen the W cover - with its sense of better chemistry between them - I'd think the UK MC cover was quite good... it also has that timeless colour scheme of red-white-black.
What I didn't like about the revamp was that they'd changed the page design to introduce more white space, which was supposed to make it look more modern and arty, but for me, simply succeeded in making the content look less substantial.

^LOL at first I thought it was a new Pringle of Scotland shot.

George looks like the main man on the cover, Renee looks like she's his accessory. I wonder what it would have looked like if they'd just used George alone? After all, they've had men-only covers before...

I haven't bought a Marie Clare in forever...is it really new and improved?
Yeah, don't let the lackluster covers deter you; the content is sort of a mash up of Redbook (only less mom-ish), Cosmo (only not as slutty), and Elle (only a bit more organized and easier to read visually).

What I miss about UK Marie Claire is the seemingly sidelined focus on international feminism - women's rights around the world. Maybe they still do feature these in-depth articles, and they've been sidelined in favour of features on 'the hottest bags on the high street' and relegated to some back page somewhere that I don't see them.
It used to be, that if I were asked to define Marie Claire as a brand, I'd look to it for quite serious coverage of women's lives across the world, in a sympathetic and unsensationlist way that managed to sit comfortably alongside the fashion pages. But over time, in appearance, it's gone a bit tabloid, to keep pace with the rest of the market.
As i said, I don't read it much anymore, I don't know if my impression is a fair one.
