Hollywood actress Maggie Gyllenhaal has taken over supermodel Kate Moss as the smouldering new face - and knockout body - of lingerie line Agent Provocateur.
Gyllenhaal stripped down for a series of sexually charged images, which see the scantily clad star splashing about in a bath and even posing in handcuffs.





The indie actress certainly had good training - she first came to attention with her daring role in 2002's Secretary, where she played a personal assistant who enjoyed being spanked by her boss.

She has gone on to appear in World Trade Center, Sherrybaby and Donnie Darko, which co-starred her actor brother Jake Gyllenhaal.



Serena Rees, co-founder of Agent Provocateur, said: "Maggie is not an obvious sex symbol."

"She is interesting looking, confident and beautiful in a way that is non-threatening, which makes her appealing to men and women alike.

The actress also has an 11-month-old daughter, Ramona, with her actor fiancé Peter Sarsgaard.



The coveted campaign has previously starred pop princess Kylie Minogue and burlesque star Dita Von Teese.

The images are part of 'Lessons in Lingerie, the first in a collection of books entitled The Adventures of Miss A.P. The next episode in the series, 'Lady of the Manor, will be released in November.

As for having to follow up Kate, I think Maggie's got a lot of heart to do it; there were bound to be unfavorable comparisons drawn, since Kate is arguably one of our generations great beauties.
I'm just glad not to have to look at another Brazilian supermodel when shopping for my fine washables.

She's really not the girl for this. I love her acting and I think she's gorgeous but the styling of the shoot does not suit her facial structure. Albeit the one in the bathtub, I find her face quite strange in these.
