Artful Bowls, Dishes, and Pretty Plates

We have a thread for cutlery, so I thought... why not a thread for bowls/dishes/plates/platters...
stuff you eat off of basically...

was just looking for stuff to contribute to another thread and found this cool bowl by Helia Jongerius on artecnicainc.com..

These and the above plates are all designed by Tord Boontje..
I think the subtlety of the colors on this set is probably really lovely in real life

The Boontje sets are beautiful. I love how the horse's mane and the deer's antlers extend out into extravagant branches. The detailing is so pretty...

Next time I go home I'll take pictures of my mom's collection of plates, bowls, etc. I think they were made in Switzerland 50 some odd years ago!

Crackery Crockery by Joana Meroz- the artist takes throw away/chipped dishes and 'repairs' the cracks with gold luster and a botanical decal.

Rehabilitated Dishware by Sarah Cihat- vintage dishes are reglazed with new stencils. she did some with spiders and other bugs that i adored

Gourmet by Lorena Barrezueta- take-out tins cast in porcelain

Biscuit Collection by Studio Job

such cool stuff

the first example with the fixed chips are so great..
even though they are technically damaged there is something so elegant about the way that they have been repaired
