Oh my gosh! Do any of you suddenly feel inadequate after seeing these homes?
They're so inspiring. Please keep them coming

The exterior of this house may be slightly over the top, but I'd love to tour the rooms anyway - the design is so intriguing. The restored home costs $7 million and is located in County Cork, Ireland.

This four-bedroom four-bath restored Victorian Gothic country house is located at the edge of Kinsale Harbor in the village of Summercove in County Cork, Ireland. It is on the market for 4,500,000 euros ($6.9 million).

The ground floor is heated by hot water piped under the oak parquet floors. The house’s terrace walls are all that remain of an old garrison that stood in this spot before the current structure was built in 1905. The house, set 40 feet above Kinsale Harbour, has 180-degree views to the southwest.

What I like about this house is how open the rooms are, and especially the beautiful location. I can see why the owner loves the view above everything else!

This $1 million house in San Diego, California is the exact opposite from the last home I posted - instead of open, light rooms, the design is dark and shaded - but I like it just as much.

I come bearing pictures! Here's a gorgeous cabin in Scottsville, Virginia, for $700,000. I would love to tour this for myself - pictures aren't enough for me!

One of my favorite home styles is adobe, so of course I just love this house. What I like in this particular home is the mixture of old and new items - the floor plan is reminiscent of older homes, but the furniture looks modern. It is located in Tucson, Arizona, and costs $730,000.

350-year-old stone house near Spoleto, Italy, with two bedrooms and two baths.

Quote:
Michael Tucker and Jill Eikenberry, actors best known for their starring roles in the TV series "L.A. Law," purchased and later expanded this 350-year-old stone house in an olive grove outside Spoleto, Italy.

The living room was built in a space carved out of the surrounding hillside, linking the old and new wings of the house. Mr. Tucker's favorite detail? The threshold, where a visitor can see how the exterior of the original house now is one of the living room's interior walls.

The house is filled with artworks by friends, including, to the left of the doorway, naïf-style paintings by Graziolina Rotunno of Rome.

Mr. Tucker and Ms. Eikenberry say they fell in love with their farmhouse kitchen, which features a table topped with local marble and has a rear door that offers easy access to the garden.

The floor of the ground-floor guest bedroom was covered with terra cotta tiles. French doors open onto the grounds, which cover about an acre and have 125 olive trees, several fruit trees and an herb and vegetable garden.
