I think wallpaper is definitely back...

not sure how i feel about it though.. i think it can give a room a lot of personality, but the ppl living in the home need to have big personalities as well

lots of fun things can be done with it but it's definitely a lot more expensive than a coat of paint

also more difficult to take down when you're ready for a change...

yes it's true it's more expensive, but the resolt it's much better.

Now they used a different glue that is much more easy to remove, and there is one that have textil from beind and get out complety.

i'll put some pics with diferent wallpepers.

Wallpaper can definitely give a room an own personality and make it something special, but only if it's done right (ie. not overdone). If my room was cleaner and more minimalistic than it is now, I'd love to have damask wallpaper on one wall.

i can't wait to finally own a home and use wallpaper! a lot of times i'll see those shows on hgtv where people are looking to makeover a room, and they always say that this fantastic wallpaper is terrible, while i'm sitting there drooling over it. i think murals are also back. i wonder how one becomes a wallpaper designer...

thanks for the pics NYni... I think they illustrate your point very well

a lot of the more subtle prints are very workable without being overwhelming... and the idea of papering only once accent wall can be a great way to make a statement without going overboard as well

my employer over the summer (the editor/publisher of a high end home magazine) had wallpaper in several rooms in her house and it looked really great

I've heard that too, that removing wallpaper can be a toxic, messy job.

I prefer using fabrics with insulating backing on stretcher bars, myself. I suppose it is partially because I don't own where I live so temporary wall treatments are better for me.

If I owned my own place, I think wall paper might have its place in smaller rooms. For a large area... I don't know. It would really depend on the paper. There are lots of Japanese paper wall coverings that I appreciate most of all.

I would be careful to learn about the chemicals used in the adhesive and the dyes and materials in the paper itself - especially important in a bedroom and around children. What is that wallpaper paste made of, anyway?

^ooh great comment

It would be nice to see different options for wallpaper
I also don't want to use that really 'sticky' and hard to remove stuff...
I remember reading about a company through the Interior Decor thread that creates wallpaper (think large posters/stickers cuz it's usually not big enough to cover the whole wall) and theirs is supposed to be easy to peel off
It makes me think of these plastic cutouts we used to put on the windows that didn't require any glue... they would just stick to the glass

I would love to have this myself

if you don't like wallpaper because the removing part, forget it, now there is new product to remove it, they didn't use wallpepper for 30 year because they are studing a good remover...
but if you're convenced you can always use tense it
