I found this blog the other day, looking for something like it precisely : )

http://www.on-my-desk.blogspot.com/
"ARTISTS, ILLUSTRATORS,
DESIGNERS & CREATIVE
FOLK SHARE THE STUFF
ON THEIR DESKS..."

Makes me wish I was more organized with my stuff, but to tell the truth, I need a clean, clear desk to work and I just put my stuff away after every project.

Hi... this is my very first post. I signed up for an account in 2005 when I noticed one of my sites (http://prate.com) linked here, but I guess I never posted and sort of forgot about this place!

Here are some design blogs I visit regularly to add to the list:

http://www.itsnicethat.com/
http://grainedit.com/
http://cpluv.com/

and my husband's blog is pretty good too:
http://think.faesthetic.com/

i like prate the most, lentil the graphics in 'archives' are so cool.. i also like a few in 'august.'
any ideas behind your graphics making ? or they're mostly spontaneous

Thank you, gius

They are all very spontaneous I would say. I often call Prate my "aesthetic testbed" and it's where I try to make new images. I'm a graphic designer but I went to school for painting so my personal works kind of lives somewhere between the two...

August of 2001, what you are referring to, was a great month. I think I was very productive that summer. Maybe the most I've been in a long long time.

aesthetic testbed sounds perfect.. a work that goes between painting and graphic design.. hmm i wonder what that would be like . definitely i'd say the pieces on prate are more like compositions which you could hang on your wall.. i always thought of graphic design as something applied to another object (for better communication i guess), like a website, packaging, etc. ...
anyway i like the front page the most , with the nice grainy texture on the triangles.. would look nice on textiles ~
