I've went in Argentina about few weeks ago,and I've really liked their style,I've thought in general their style is classic and sportish, I've really liked guy's hair, but I didn't liked this mullety hair at all...here in Brazil, this tipe of hair only the country singers like chitãozinho and xororó wear it!
Wow, all these kids they've got these strong features, long hair and tanned long legs and they can pull off this daring kind of look somehow. And all latin people are simply gorgeous. I suspect they'd be able to pull off anything. lucky
Tanning is still very big in Argentina. Tanning salons are everywhere....
Younger and hipper people may skip it but women in their 30 and 40 love the tan look, paired with blonde hair.
Straighthened (ironed) hair is also big among the "tan pack"
the guy with the prints shirt in the first post of the second page...reminds me of babasonicos' guitarist. do i sound really out of context here or..does anybody know him?
My colleague is from Mar del Plata, she says you have to be thin, thin thin... (flaca!) if you want to belong to the upper classes. Being fat is a sign of low class. Well, I guess not only in Argentina...
[quote=solg]^ i'm not sure if i agree, there're people who care about being healthy and looking good, but there're others who couldn't care less about their physical (sp?) appearance or the clothes they wear..like in every other place of the world.
some pics i took today;
All the pictures you posted were of old woman. Young grirls and woman are very thin in Buenos Aires. My sister who wears a size 28 in shorts, pants, skirts has to buy the largest size in malls and boutiques. She has a hard time finding clothes the fit her. Two years ago the were going to make a law that store windows couldn't use less than size 6 (or 4) clothing in store windows because of the high number of people with eating disorders in Argentina. They never went through with the law, or if they did they do not enforce it.

i know the pictures weren't of young women; i was out for 15 mins and took the pictures randomly.
but what you're saying is really true. i lost weight recently and i remember having the hardest time finding clothes that fit me right back then.
the shape of the clothes varies from store to store, so you have to find the one/s that has/ve what fits you right and stick to it/them.
i don't even wanna talk about following the laws here in Argentina, because it never gets done. i remember the one you're talking about, and i think they were gonna get through with it, but then i don't know what happened. now there's a new one, to low the prices.it's incredible how the prices went up in two years.
actually Rapsodia does have sizes for average people..
young girls would be surprised if they went into older women's stores. you can find some really good stuff.
to me, it doesn't really matter what brand is it, as long as it fits me right.
im a size 4 right now but before i was size 6 and in stores like jazmin chebar, lupe, mvz or wanama was really frustrating to go and sometimes they didnt have the size for the colour you wanted ....
also the media impulse this culture to be ULTRA thin that you have to starved yourself for being a size 0 1 or at least 2 !
I dont think of bonaerenses or argentinians as latinamerican ... their cities are very much european-like as well as their appearance ... esp. the italian influence is VERY strong...
Most of my friends are a bit baffled by the fact that argentinian men has this just-rolled-out-of-bed look with their hair ... which seems to be the rule.
About style ... most of them are beautiful, but I prefer brazilian designers much more. (what's the name of that designer who shows in Bariloche who knocks off Dior and other designers season after season? Giordano?)
