San Diego Streetstyle

There doesn't seem to be a thread on San Diego streetstyle. I am going down there in November. Is it like LA style? Just standard surfer style? Any tips would be helpful.

Any San Diego residents care to get this thread started?

I live in the baja peninsula but go to san diego sometimes and have never seen anything worth photographing.. I don't mean this negatively.. it's just a very laid-back place (if not conservative).. the only place I've seen people getting slightly creative on their outfits is Hillcrest. but then again, as a visitor you tend to miss the secret spots only locals know.. in other words, I know nothing , just sharing my outsider impressions here and trying to bump the thread haha.

I'm sure fourboltmain (tfser+photographer+sandiegan) will come up with something..

^ Hell, let's all get beers!

San Diego is big, very big. Style depends on where you go I suppose. Downtown is full of bums and yuppies. North Park is full of boutiques and hipsters but a LOT of good art and music seems to emanate from there. Chula Vista and South Side is a mix of a more A&F attire or flat out gangster chic, from which I have bastardized my style from. Ocean Beach is all CHILLED out hippies and Pacific Beach is frat boys and Juicy girls.

Yes, I'm generalizing, but I'm about 90% right. That's still an A- on a report card right? I think the best thing to do is follow art shows and different bands around as there's no definite 'cool' spot.

I get my hair done at Jet Rhys! (sign pictured in the last photo, Hillcrest area) There is an excellent Buffalo Exchange down the street that I frequent before or after appointments.

San Diego Magazine ran a story on San Diego Fashion this month. I haven't read it yet, but plan to this weekend. Here's a link to the online article:
