Streetstyle Posting Etiquette.
Before Posting a new thread: - Kindly use the search function before posting a new topic.
- Kindly refrain from starting threads on distinctive characters from the internet, local scene or people that you know. Even though it's understandable to believe somebody embodies the spirit of a place, one of the goals of the section is to be objective about places and to show diversity and individual style through a variety of locations.
Tips on posting: - Do not post personal pictures in the Streetstyle threads. Unless you were spotted on the streets of your town by someone else, it is not allowed to share your personal file as a representation of your city's style, you can visit the Personal Style area for threads with that aim.
- We all want to see pictures, not red X's.
Pictures from wireimage, nymag.com, style.it and blogspot expire after a certain period of time or stop functioning when hotlinked. If you do not want them to disappear from the thread, you might want to post them as an attachment or via a photo hosting site.
Crediting: - Always credit the pictures you post. Photo crediting is the professional thing to do, its good manners to give credit where credit is due.
All images that are not properly credited will have to be removed. What constitutes proper crediting read here
- If you cannot remember the source of a picture you can transload it to (imageshack, photobucket etc) and post the link to the picture, but not the picture itself.
Reader-friendly thread making and posting: - Separate posted images to avoid endless long horizontal lines of pictures.
- When you post pictures, try not to post more pictures than 8 in one post. This way threads stay organized and clear for members to read.
- Do not quote pictures. If you quote someone's post, do not forget to remove the images from it. Please keep in mind that reposts don't help our bandwidth at all.
- Do not ask for model IDs in the Model's Streetstyle thread. Please visit the Model ID thread in Supporting Cast for that.
- Please try to be as specific as possible when posting photos by taking in consideration the location and/or street event for easier search performance, and to avoid reposts.
