While not hugely famous a cinematic icon as other actresses of her time, I find her so beautiful and sweet and a great actress. I loved her in North by Northwest, and perhaps most famously, in On The Waterfront.
She is also mentioned in the song Rattlesnakes, covered recently by Tori Amos, but orginally by Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, a mighty cool tune.
She still acts too, most recently in Superman Returns.
