Inspired in the golden century of the Spanish painter, Velasquez; Agatha Ruiz de la Prada's Spring 2009 collection presents Las Meninas from a unique point of view.

The dresses in brightly colored fabrics were shaped in a style reminiscent of Phillip IV's court - highlighting the hips with a nipped waist and reinforcements on the sides.

The dresses simulated a fan both in shape and with details; suggesting a folkloric atmosphere.

Besides the colourful world of Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, this time she combines a lot of materials such as silk, plastic, cotton, jacquard and satin, and creates a circus of details in every piece, in every volume.

Tulle in different sizes, a lot of patchwork making a blanket of different fabrics, metal foil, huge flakes jumping from the dresses in movement, beads everywhere on the skirts giving glow and texture.
