Sure the fact that Bruno crashed the Spring 2009 Jean-Charles de Castelbajac show added lots of excitement, but even without the British comedian’s appearance JC/DC always stages an unforgettable show. 

Given how focused everyone currently is on the economy and their work selling (and I don’t blame them of course) it was refreshing to see that JC/DC hasn’t changed a smidge.

Born in Casablanca on the 28th of November 1949, JC/DC became passionate about military history as a youngster and in 1969 he created his first collection using indirect fabrics (floor cloths, sponges, oilskin cloths, camouflage cloths). Only one year later the young designer was honored with his first Elle cover and subsequently he was hailed “The Courrèges of the 70s” by WWD.

It’s hard to believe that it was over 30 years ago that the designer first showed his Teddy Bear coat, but so goes history. Along with a poncho for two, the coat was shown at a show at the Bource du Commerce in Paris followed closely by the opening of his first boutique on the French capital’s exclusive Marché Rue St Honoré.
