The Glam Guide to Visiting Montreal

Where to play:

The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (Montreal International Jazz Festival) is no small potatoes. This annual jazz fest is the world’s largest jazz festival and features around 3,000 artists from 30+ countries and around 700 concerts — many of them free, outdoors and open to the public. We were there for opening night this year, and were treated to an unforgettable Feist performance. The streets of the old city were packed, even as the rain came down!

Montreal’s Underground City is one of the coolest spots in the city — and it’s a city unto itself! It runs close to 20 miles and contains thousands of stores and restaurants, even several dozen movie theaters and spas/salons. Use it as well to access 10 metro stations through over 100 exterior entrances — meaning, you can navigate the entire city without ever going outside. Perfect for a chilly or rainy day.
