Designer Lubov Azria Shares Her Interior Design and Home Décor Advice

I love interior design and home decor and the great thing about them is that, contrary to popular belief, you don’t need a big budget to make big changes — vintage is chic! Also, accessories can do as much for a home as they do for outfits. Adding pops of color or style in accent pieces really adds character to a home. It’s all about taste, not budget. Your home should reflect you. The Rose Bowl Flea Market is one of my favorite places to shop. When I do splurge, it’s on chandeliers, which I’m obsessed with.

While I am very interested in interior design, I realize that not everyone shares a similar passion, but just like an outfit, start with statement pieces and the rest will come easy. A great piece of furniture, a gorgeous rug or beautiful painting can go a long way — even if you have no knack for design. Painting and wallpaper are also easy ways to give your home a makeover; you don’t even have to restrict yourself to just paint or paper, you can explore woods, mirrors, paneling and so on. The key when decorating is to never forget to include an element of fun and sense of humor along the way.
