Simple Fruity Drink Ideas for People Who Don’t Like Following Recipes

Wild Berry Pomegranate Smoothie

I really like making smoothies. On the days where I get to work from home I often make smoothies to go along with a quick, light lunch to fill me up. Tropical tasting smoothies are my favourite so I came up with this very berry delicious smoothie recipe to add to the rotation.

The main ingredient for this smoothie recipe is the Oasis Nutrisource Wild Berry Pomegranate 40 calorie juice.

In a blender, I combined the following ingredients:

  • 3-4 strawberries (you could use any berry but these were what I had on hand)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1-2 tablespoons of low fat coconut flavoured Greek yogurt (use any flavour you’d like!)
  • 3/4 cup (or so) of juice

Blend it all up until the drink is smooth and frothy. Pour into a glass and serve. For me, this made a little over a cup or so of the smoothie. You can always adjust the amount and proportions of the ingredients to your liking.

This drink is creamy and smooth thanks to the banana and yogurt, and the coconut flavour of the yogurt added that tropical feel I was looking for. The Wildberry Pomegranate juice added just the right amount of berry tang to make me want to sit under an umbrella by the pool.

Cranberry Orange “Cocktail”

I also wanted to try my hand at a refreshing drink that would be great for summer entertaining (that is, if summer ever decides to show up!). I used the Oasis Nutrisource Cranberry 40 calorie juice as the base for this next drink. My version is non-alcoholic, and since I don’t drink I have no idea what you could add to spike it, but I’m assuming you could find something suitable

I’ve always loved the taste of cranberry and orange together. Something about this combo is just really refreshing and screams summer to me. This recipe is also super simple and can be thrown together quickly even in a large punch bowl for entertaining.

Combine:

  • The juice of one large orange
  • 1/4 cup of orange juice (any brand or fresh squeezed if you’d like)
  • 1/4 cup of club soda or any other clear sparkling beverage
  • 1/2 cup of Oasis Nutrisource

Add an orange slice in the glass and it’s ready to serve!

Super easy and definitely summer-ready! As I mentioned, cranberry and orange are such a perfect combination, and the added bit of fizzy flavour to the natural tang of the cranberry juice just rounded it all out.

Both of these juice flavours are a great lower calorie alternative to other juices, as they contain no sugar or sucrose. They are actually sweetened with stevia; but I didn’t notice any compromise on the flavour. Both are 100% juice blends with added Vitamin C & E. If your family is big on drinking juices, you may want to check these out.

I’m pretty proud of myself for experimenting with these flavours, and even more proud that they worked out

If you’d like to experiment and try the Oasis Nutrisource juices out for yourself they are widely available at grocery stores. They are also holding a promotional contest right now where you could win 1 of 10 $1000 shopping sprees!
