Japanese avant-garde fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto has teamed-up with Italian design licensing company Sinv Spa to launch a casual capsule collection -- COMING SOON. The two have signed a 10-year contract and have estimated that their collaboration could bring in as much as $275 million. COMING SOON features looks for both men and women and is aimed at a younger demographic. Distribution will be divided between Europe (60%), Asia (30%), and the U.S. (10%).

The pieces will not have Yamamoto’s signature label because, the Japanese designer has said,  the idea is to create one’s own stylistic message through the benefit of anonymity. The first collection includes 170 pieces for men and 200 pieces for women. In typical Yamamoto form the garments look simple on the surface, but are all intricately constructed and have refined details and finishes.

You can see the collection (along with remarkable cinematography), via videos on YouTube (http://youtube.com/watch?v=DSObHV1h37g), as COMING SOON will be making short films over the next few seasons, instead of mounting traditional runway shows.

More information is available on the website at www.comingsoon.com.
