Channeling Charlotte, with no size zero...
By Andy Wass
You can currently see "Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis in one of the biggest movies of the summer. After shooting and promoting the dressed-for-success film, Davis could easily take a long vacation to sleep in and watch the box office numbers, but she's not ready to take a break.
Earlier this week, North Carolina-based department store Belk, announced their recruitment of Davis to design and promote a range of womenswear and accessories. A South Carolina native who grew up shopping at Belk stores, Davis sees the
partnership as ideal. She cites her childhood connections with the store and the fact that the retailer “understands” their customers.
Kristin Davis for Belk launches this fall with clothing, sleepwear, handbags, shoes, and jewelery, with possible expansion to a home section.
Though she has had numerous television, stage, and movie roles, Davis has become synonymous with her “Sex and the City” character, Charlotte York. In the fashion-conscious show, Charlotte's style was chic, feminine, and classic. Davis promises "a lot of crossover" between Charlotte's style and her own. So expect racks of floaty dresses, A-line skirts, active wear, and fine knits, ranging in price from $38-240.
