Remember the music duo who paraded around in their undies to the delight of Puff Daddy and Ashton Kutcher at the MTV Music Awards a few years ago? Well the Russian twosome is now reportedly set to star in the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2008 Russian ad campaign.

 

This of course isn’t all that shocking given Marc Jacobs’ quirky taste when it comes to picking his models and shooting his campaigns.

Who can forget the ads featuring Victoria Beckham walking out of an open carrier bag and the one where her legs are dangling-out from the top of shopping bag, or better yet the one where her head (decked-out in shades), peaks-out.

Previous ad campaigns have also featured youngling Dakota Fanning, director Sofia Coppola, Meg White of the White Stripes, and singer M.I.A..

From September 2nd to the 16th, Marc Jacobs Moscow boutique will be hosting an on-going competition -- “Marc’s Girl” – a search for the most fashionable fashionista. The winners will be invited to a Marc Jacobs fashion show in New York, will be featured in a photo-shoot for a yet-to-be-confirmed glossie, and perhaps best of all, receive Marc by Marc Jacobs clothing.

 

On a side note, it was posted yesterday, August 25th on Tatu’s official website – “August 25: t.A.T.u. became the faces of Marc by Marc Jacob autumn/winter 2008 campaign.”

Yes, that’s correct, they refer to “Marc Jacobs” as “Marc Jacob.”
