If there’s one thing that’s for sure about Rachel Zoe, it’s that she’s incredibly business savvy. Literally a celebrity stylist, she is now inching her way to being as much of a household name as the stars she dresses for her their red carpet appearances. Next up? Season 3 of her hit Bravo show, and her own fashion line.
It was just announced that The Rachel Zoe Project was picked up for a third season, and will premiere on Bravo August 3rd at 11pm ET/PT. Gwen Stefani, Demi Moore, Molly Sims, and Johnny Weir are just a few of the celebrities who are said to be making cameo appearances, though fans of the show will likely be more interested in seeing how the parting of Zoe and her longtime assistant, Taylor Jacobson, will play out.
It’s also worth noting that Zoe’s husband, Rodger Berman, left his investment banking job and is now his wife’s business partner and President of Rachel Zoe, Inc.
In what is probably no small coincidence, Zoe now made public the information that in addition to her clothing line for QVC and her high-end jewelry collection, she has teamed with LF USA, a subsidiary of Li & Fung Ltd, to launch a lifestyle brand. Apparel, shoes, and accessories will launch be hitting department stores, specialty stores, and e-commerce worldwide for Fall 2011. Home may follow, depending on the success of the line.
Of course, like all celebrities turned designers, Zoe claims that it was always her “ultimate dream” to design her own fashion line though “nothing is designed yet”, and Zoe is in “the process of hiring a design team.”
Rachel Zoe is an incredibly, smart, talented woman who has been able to pioneer her unique style into full-fledged world-wide trends (oversized sunglasses, boho-dresses).
While I’m skeptical of her transitioning into having her own brand, judging by the gorgeous pieces that have resulted from Victoria Beckham’s line, I’ll force myselt to have an open mind. I just hope she follows Beckham’s lead, and doesn’t do too much too soon.
