There’s nothing like the announcement of the preliminary New York Fashion Week schedule for the Spring/Summer 2011 season to make us realize that summer is winding down.
In just a few weeks, the fashion world will come together in Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park for the first Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week in the new venue.
Over 90 designers – including some very exciting newcomers – will present their collections in a mix of runway and presentation style shows.
The season will also mark the first one without Fern Mallis at the helm of IMG.
While there may be some additional shows announced in the coming weeks, the line-up as of now includes the following designers (in order of their show dates):

Just like at Bryant Park, the Lincoln Center venue will provide designers with a choice of three venues – the Theatre, Stage, and Studio. There will also be a fourth presentation space, called the Box.
While there are certainly a few designers on the list whose place at Lincoln Center we may question, overall it appears that the up-coming season will be more exciting than ever, with a wonderful mix of established designers and truly talented rising designers poised to be our generation’s new stars.
