House of Toi S/S 2011

Dancers Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Beloserkovsky joined the trio, and all seemed to embraced the show’s lively atmosphere.

Toi found himself inspired by the epic James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor film, Giant, for this season’s House of Toi collection.

His muse translated most literally (and memorably) with a shirtless “cowboy” who walked the runway in a black cowboy hat and fringed, tight black pants to kick off the show.

It was obvious the crowd loved Toi’s creations, and embraced the cowboy themed show.

Toi’s signature intricate embellishments were present as well. After all, the Texas damsel needs to be dressed, too. Toi offered flattering slim black pants, little black dresses, button-down shirts, and fitted tops done in a variety of hues and pattern iterations for the more understated woman.

Complete with fabulously tousled large hairstyles, the show was brimming with flouncy full skirt dresses reminiscent of the 60’s, a horse-topped caftan-styled look, floral prints, rosette details, and feminine bows. The collection also showed an influence of menswear, particularly in an ensemble that included a crisp white shirt paired with a white cumberbund and bow tie.
