10 Defining Pre-Fall 2011 Looks

Unlike the Spring and Fall fashion show seasons, the Pre-Fall presentations aren’t wrapped in one clean swoop. They go on for weeks, which gives us time to digest the season’s spectrum. Here are 10 defining looks from the Pre-Fall 2011 collections which should provide some cues as to what to grab for the season.

Michael Kors Red CoatOscar de la Renta menswear-inspired lookRed isn’t going anywhere, if these collections are any indication. Here’s a stand-out look from Michael Kors. In a nod to menswear, pick up a pair of loose trousers, Oscar de la Renta-style, for the ultimate feminine take on the relaxed silhouette.

Neutrals always come around again on the runways, but color-blocking is just as integral to the Pre-Fall collections. A great example is this look from Jason Wu’s collection.  Add a touch of feminine frill during the day with a bow-tie waist-cinching belt.  3.1 Philip Lim perfects pant detailing this season.
