Max Azria Fall 2011 Runway Review

This season, Max and Lubov Azria are giving their customer an edgy update to their classic looks. Sticking with a mostly neutral color palette of beige, brown, black, cream, and army green, the design duo went for clean cuts and easy silhouettes as their base for a show brimming with closet staples.

Mixed fabrics in similar color-ways, contrasting lining, textured leather, and faux fur gave visual interest to many classically tailored jackets, skirts, vests, and dresses making for some more fashion-forward everyday looks. Menswear inspired separates translated into sleek takes on the tuxedo jacket and pant, and while most of the collection was tailored on the slim side, sheer fabrics gave movement to some of the after dark looks.

It was the pops of color that appeared via pleated shift dresses and the cozy knits that stood out, however, as the most memorable from the solid offerings in the Fall 2011 Max Azria collection.
