Things Not to Miss on tFS This Week (NY Fashion Week Edition)

This week was exceptionally busy: we covered all the NY Fashion Week shows including exclusive backstage access, reported from the Ford Artists Beauty Suite, took street style snaps outside Lincoln Center, and interviewed models, celebrities, editors, and beauty artists. It might have been hard to keep up with us (we had a hard time keeping up with ourselves!), so let’s take a moment to look back at the week that was – a week that couldn’t have been anything else.

New York Fashion Week Runway Reviews

The main event of our all-encompassing coverage includes reviews and images from over 65 of the hottest runway shows, housed on our New York Fashion Week site for your reading pleasure. Coverage includes commentary and insight into the most exhilarating (and disappointing) shows of Fall 2011.

For a full round-up of our favorites, check out our Top 10 picks of the collections: Top 10 Looks of NYFW.

For a different perspective, don’t miss the fashion week hits & misses according to the forums. Every day, we posted a recap of the collections based on the opinions shared in the threads. And if you know the forums, you know that there isn’t a more savvy or more cutting bunch of fashionistas in all the world: Forum Buzz: Fashion Week Hits & Misses Recaps.

Backstage at the Shows

Not only did we linger backstage at shows like Marchesa, Betsey Johnson, Rebecca Minkoff, and other shows, jotting down beauty tips and taking note of behind-the-scenes drama, we also enlisted one of the top make-up artists, Sylwia Rakowska, to write an insider’s diary about the backstage beauty prep for Marc by Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors.

Front Row & Backstage

We all know that the fun of fashion week isn’t just about the designers, artists, stylists, and models that make the shows possible, it’s also about the guests. As much as you might love looking at the runways, the fashion editors and red carpet-worthy celebs sitting court-side show off some incredible looks and enviable styling.

If you’re going stir-crazy from the catwalk shots, take it easy and get some inspiration from our Front Row and Street Style series.

Ford Artists Beauty Suite

Also this week: we checked in to the Ford Artists Beauty Suite to chat with the fashion insiders getting pampered between shows. Check out our Editor-At-Large, the wonderful Julie Bensman, interview Nigel Barker, Kat DeLuna, Paula Reed (GraziaDaily), Jillian Cornejo (Glamour), and photographer Tim Geaney (the “unsung hero” of the event).

Plus: there are more beauty tips and tricks (including video tutorials with the Ford Artists!) still to come on TheFashionSpot.
