Vanessa Bruno Fall 2011 Runway Review

When it comes to achieving the effortless yet chic look that Parisian women are often stereotypically associated with, Vanessa Bruno can be consistently counted on to deliver. This season, Bruno mixed slouchy cuts with more tailored looks in a collection heavy on mixed textures and layering. This mix translated into a lineup that offered both looks to satisfy the designer’s romantic-minded customer (think languid skirts and silk dresses), as well as the more rugged one (think wool coats and crew neck sweaters).

Bruno designs with real woman, not fleeting trends, in mind and it shows. Nearly every look had a slip-on-and-go, everyday staple feel to it, while nonetheless falling in line with many of the reoccurring key trends we’ve seen thus far this season (white, metallics, layering, fur, and sheer among them). For the kind of seasonless pieces most women try to stock their closets with, it’s hard to go wrong with Vanessa Bruno’s Fall 2011 collection.
