Blake Lively Goes Auburn; Gwyneth Paltrow Lands Coach

Blake Lively might be fashion’s golden girl, but at the Time 100 gala in New York City yesterday, the Gossip Girl actress debuted a brand new red ‘do. Blake paired her new auburn locks with a turquoise Zuhair Murad gown. The Little Mermaid look is beyond stunning, but I’m having a hard time adjusting to the copper color. Part of Blake’s appeal has always been that her look was so clean and effortless, but maybe the actress was sick of playing everyone’s California girl. [Stylebakery]

Gwyneth Paltrow is the new face of Coach. Her campaign will mark the brand’s 70th anniversary, and a Coach spokesperson remarked that the actress was “a natural choice. She embodies the spirit, energy and elegance of the Coach brand.” Gwyneth’s elegance has always been her selling point, but mere hours after the announcement, the actress made a few very unbecoming remarks on the Chelsea Lately show. After telling the host that she was a “lush,” Gwyneth took the opportunity to tell a national audience that her late grandmother was a “bitch” and also a “real c**t.” Eeek. I’m a big defender of brassy, loud-mouthed women, but I’m really thinking that she might not be a great fit for Coach, a more conservative label. [DailyStab, Us Weekly]
