Tibi designer Amy Smilovic explained that her Spring 2012 collection is “about modernizing and refreshing the 90s silhouette with streamlined cuts that carry a sportswear element of drawstring details, motor jackets, track suits, and asymmetrical hems.” Her inspiration translated into a lineup of contrastingly hued, mixed proportioned staples that her fans, included the celebrity ones seated front row – Olivia Palermo, Louise Roe, Sophia Bush, and Emma Roberts – won’t be disappointed in.True to Smilovic’s inspiration, the line took the relaxed, sportswear 90s theme and modernized it with soft femininity for a clean collection that included easy-to-wear cuts (think slouchy pants, maxi skirts, breezy pleated dresses, roomy shorts, and wide leg rompers), in a mixture of monochrome white, ivory, taupe, cobalt blue, mint green, sherbet, raspberry, lemon, and golden yellow color iterations. Though most of the dresses and separates were monochrome (and layered together in a color-blocked fashion), some dark geometric prints along with color-blocked paisley-esque topped ones also made their way down the runway.
