In tune with the upcoming MET ball’s superheroes tribute, Diane von Furstenberg, creator of the iconic wrap dress, will be collaborating with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Comics, to produce a holiday collection loosely based on Wonder Woman.

"Wonder Woman is the ultimate symbol of female strength, independence and freedom. When Warner Bros. approached me to collaborate, I immediately thought it was a fun idea that would reinforce my belief in women and commitment to their empowerment. The collection will inspire every woman to be the Wonder Woman she wants to be," says von Furstenberg.

Apparently, DVF has been fascinated with Wonder Woman for years— she’s kept a picture of the comic heroine in her notebook and her staff even once gave her a framed photo of herself in the likeness of Wonder Woman as a gift.

The collection, due out in the later part of the year, will include ready- to-wear, small leathergoods and footwear inspired by the motifs and symbols of the iconic superhero, like stars and stripes— all of which she promises will be absolutely wearable.
