Dsquared² Spring 2012 Runway Review

This season’s Dsquared² collection took a similar thematic approach as the Wild West-inspired Fall 2011 line. Spring 2012 will have all the fashionable music festival-loving gals (think Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Whitney Port, Nicole Richie…) ready to go next Spring thanks to designers Dan and Dean Caten. Mud splattered boots on their feet, trompe l’oeil mud on their pants, and a beer in hand models walked the mud covered runway wearing a mix of boho (think loose multi-colored peasant skirts and oversized fringe cross-body bags), Americana (think faded American flag printed tops), and rock-n-roll (think studded belts and leather pants) tinged looks. Taken together, the collection screamed of the too cool for school fashionable women that flood the likes of the Glastonbury music festival every year – fittingly, it was that very scene that inspired the designers for what was, at the very least, a memorable show.
