Giambattista Valli Spring 2012 Runway Review

It’s not for nothing that Giambattista Valli is Paris' newest couturier. Always one to deliver an impeccably crafted collection that plays with shapes and proportions for eye-catching, structured creations, this season brought with it a clean palette and silhouettes (namely the boxy shift, now a Valli signature), allowing for the construction, fabrics, prints, and embellishments to once again take center stage.

Among the looks we’re all but certain to see on the red carpet were the yellow patterned cocktail dresses and gowns. Equally memorable were high-shine zebra print separates and zebra-printed, fur hemmed cocktail dresses, particularly a structured zebra top offset with a monochrome white pencil skirt. The one thing giving the clothes a run for their money were the accessories which included above-the-elbow stacked snake and chain bracelets and strappy sandals with oversized link ankle straps.
