Given that Anna Wintour was already spotted in a car print skirt from the Spring 2012 Prada collection, it’s safe to say that Miuccia Prada already has one surefire hot selling collection on her hands. Things were more hit or miss, however, in Paris when the designer showed her Spring 2012 Miu Miu line-up. Patchwork prints, cropped tops, and stole-like little capes left some of the looks looking too much like period costumes, especially given the small velvet bags and Shakespeare-inspired shoes they often came paired with. The drab colors didn’t help matters. That said, there was much more to love in the off-the-shoulder cape coats, high-waist rushed at the top skirts, and bucket bags, all of which struck as modern and fresh despite their demurely retro silhouettes.
