Gen Art’s Fresh Faces in Fashion Designer Reception

After a long 18-month absence, Gen Art (the organization known for discovering and nurturing new talent in music, art, film and fashion) finally made its triumphant return to the runway on October 22, closing out Los Angeles’ Style Fashion Week with its legendary Fresh Faces in Fashion show. Last night, we had the honor of attending the very chic and cool Fresh Faces in Fashion Designer Reception held at the Andaz West Hollywood in celebration of the 11 participating designers from the show—71 STANTON, Stand and Deliver, Chambers, Funktional, and Dear Creatures, just to name a few.

The reception took place at the top of the Andaz hotel in a very large and expansive, glass enclosed room known as the Panorama Room. Guests meandered outside onto the rooftop deck where cozy cabanas, stunning city views and more tasty Jose Cuervo Platino, Qream, and Ketel One cocktails awaited them. But inside was where all the action was really taking place. The main attraction of the evening (aside from the designers themselves)? A live photoshoot by fashion photographer Jason Eric Hardwick.

Hairstylists, makeup artists and fashion stylists crowded around gorgeous, long limbed models, pinning hair up into 20s flapper-inspired styles, creating soft, subtle makeup and outfitting girls in chic, Cali-cool ensembles. Then onlookers watched as a fashion shoot literally took place in the middle of the party! We must say, this was by far our favorite part of the evening. Now we just can’t wait to see which one of these designers will become the next Rodarte.
