The Coveterie, Toronto’s Latest Style Destination

The Coveterie features emerging contemporary designers and some of the most sought after international labels, bridging the gap for the the lines it houses by providing product samples to short- and long-lead fashion media and hosting seasonal previews for retail buyers. What is really unique about The Coveterie is the attentive and accommodating environment they provide for buyers and style media, all under their roof, steps away from Yorkville, Toronto’s famed shopping district.

Behind The Coveterie is an amazingly talented woman named Natasha Geddes, a Canadian retail veteran. Natasha is not only a beauty but she has years of experience having worked  retail in various roles, namely buyer amongst other things at Holt Renfrew. She has also studied Fashion Marketing and Merchandising at Toronto’s International Academy of Art & Design.

The concept for The Coveterie came to Geddes while on maternity leave from her position as Buyer, Contemporary and Branded Leather Goods, at Canada’s leading lifestyle and fashion department store chain, Holt Renfrew. “As a former buyer, I know what grabs the attention of retailers and what they need from the showroom experience to make informed purchasing decisions. I realized a lot of talented designers go unnoticed in the industry because they don’t have the promotion resources of larger fashion houses. I know that retailers and fashion media have a near limitless appetite for the latest trends, particularly those that are still flying under the mainstream radar. The Coveterie will connect these trendsetting individuals with emerging global designers who are truly ahead of the curve.”

The Coveterie is open now by appointment for limited media and industry previews of Fall 2011 collections from Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney, and Budapest-based designers.
