Who could have predicted that Cameron Diaz would be the grande dame of Haute Couture this season? The actress was once again spotted taking in a couture collection, this time around the Riccardo Tisci-designed Givenchy Spring 2012 presentation. While the collection didn't have Diaz written all over it, it certainly seems like it would hold high appeal for Oscar nominee Rooney Mara.
A mostly dark palette made up the collection of long, figure-hugging gowns, some of which had sheer fabrics to loosen up their tough-luxe aesthetic. The beadwork achieved on these gowns is impeccable and when combined with the imposing jewelry chosen by Tisci, it made for quite a dazzling — if intimating — statement. This is couture for the most confident of rule-breaking women and it would be fantastic to see any one of the ten floor-sweeping gowns shown on the red carpet, especially if paired with the grapefruit-sized crystal earrings the models were asked to wear.
