Despite rarely being seen on the red carpet, Jill Stuart‘s shows always pack in a slew of celebrities – albeit usually of the reality TV kind. This season brought out Olivia Palermo, Nikki Reed, football star Ramses Barden, and Sofia Curtis (I counted my lucky stars that there were no Kardashians causing chaos this season). As for the Fall 2012 line-up, it included the designer’s signature mix of flirty femininity (think bow topped shoes and peter pan collars), with sexy rock 'n' roll touches (think black lace and leather panels).
Floral prints were bountiful, but set against a black backdrop, they made for a slew of cool weather-appropriate separates and dresses. The color palette was, with the exception of some pops of white, kept dark with black, navy, plum, and purple dominating most looks. Peplums added flirty appeal to the collection that, while not offering anything ground breakingly new, was rife with wearable pieces that will likely hold high appeal to the designer’s contemporary shopping fans.
