Matthew Williamson Fall 2012 Runway Review

Sure there was plenty of color and lots of embellishments, but unlike most of Matthew Williamson’s recent collections, Fall 2012 was quite structured and worked in solid pieces to offset some of the heavier brocades, printed, and jeweled looks.

A floor-length print and color-blocked collared dress was particularly memorable (not to mention befitting of Michelle Williams who perhaps should have opted to come to Williamson’s show over Mulberry's). Gown aside, Williamson is probably best known for his cocktail looks – and there were plenty of great ones this season including a red feather hemmed one and a variety of printed cap sleeved looks — but his crisp suiting stood out as some of the season's most well executed.
