Jonathan Saunders Fall 2012 Runway Review

Jonathan Saunders is riding a wave of momentum and there's no end in sight. With a BFC/Vogue Fashion Fund award under his belt, the Scottish designer has earned a reputation for producing stellar, sell-out collections. In a stunning venue overlooking the city, many wondered whether he would stand up to the pressure, but stand up he did and with wonderful growth. Working off of shapes similar to those in his smash-hit spring collection, Saunders played with depth of color an texture more than ever before. Trapunto quilting was shown alongside appliqued chiffon, but print-hungry fans of the designer need not worry as his hypnotic signature prints had a place in the collection as well.

It's almost as if Saunders closed his eyes to the attention and the praise and just focused on what was important. He managed to create a collection that not only captivated on the catwalk, but was also filled with interesting, wearable pieces that buyers will be desperate to snatch up for next season. The Saunders girl is confident and polished and will have no problem finding a fall wardrobe in this impressive showing.
