Lanvin Fall 2012 Runway Review

Alber Elbaz celebrated a decade at Lanvin with a bang. Clean lined and impeccably tailored, few designers could make black dresses, peplums, and sculpted collars look as freshly appealing given the parade of them we’ve seen over the last few weeks. That’s not to say Elbaz didn’t turn up the drama; after focusing on minimalism for the first half of the Lanvin lineup, he churned out beautifully embroidered, glittering, and patterned mini dresses for a collection that, overall, was nothing short of pure fun.

It’s a testament to Elbaz’s wide-ranging appeal that Pharell, Jessica Alba, Dita von Teese, and Tilda Swinton, all of whom were seated front row, consistently sing his praise — and why not when the designer and the designs are so charming?
