Vivienne Westwood Fall 2012 Runway Review

Bikes, oddball hats, makeup and hair that left the models looking strung out, distracting glasses, and other styling choices aside, there were some covetable pieces in this season’s Vivienne Westwood collection. Westwood is one of those designers whose collections almost always look more appealing on the retail floor than they do on the runway where, as they did this season, they often appear jumbled to the point of being almost clownish.

Architectural coats with angled shoulders and wide lapels, a long plaid coat, printed leggings, and monochrome cocktail dresses that showed off the brand’s signature knack for draping were among the season’s standouts.
