Givenchy Fall 2012 Runway Review

There may have been a lot of leather in this season’s Givenchy collection, but with short shorts, slip-like dresses and tops, and lots of bare legs (albeit somewhat covered thanks to knee-high wedge boots), there may be some chilly women out there come Fall 2012.

The hard-edged collection was heavy on black with just a few notes of olive, brown, and red. Creative director Riccardo Tisci noted that he was partly inspired by riding wear, which came through clearly via leather boots, quilted trousers, and jodhpurs, while beading gave a tribal feel to some of the colorful pieces. No matter the look, nearly every model came out dressed in heavily gothic looks that one could easily imagine on Rihanna any day now.
