Victoria Beckham: Harper Bazaar’s Cover Star

Victoria’s Career

As a sort of self-promotion, and obviously because Beckham is proud of her own designs, she is often photographed wearing garments from her own collections. And very proud she should be, because as a fashion designer, her career continues to go from strength to strength, and countless celebrities are pictured wearing her designs on a daily basis. Without a doubt, upon the hottest red carpets, there’ll be somebody flaunting a Victoria Beckham number. Only last week, Jennifer Lawrence was seen wearing one of Beckham’s colour block dresses at the premiere of The Hunger Games, which is tipped to be bigger than Twilight.

High-Street Copies

As we know, garments inspired by the luxury catwalks soon trickle down to the British high-street, which is a saving grace for us fashion addicts who aren’t millionaires. It was recently reported that Beckham’s collections are no exception to the trickle-down theory, and garments which ooze elements of her signature designs are hitting UK chains such as Debenhams and George at ASDA at a fraction of the price.

What’s Next?

As Beckham is joint owner of her husband David’s underwear range for H&M, which he actually designed himself, this means that she’s already experienced success upon the high street. At a point, however, it did appear that she was planning to put her fashion career on the back-burner as she refused to relocate to Paris to further her career, because her children were settled in L.A. Nevertheless, Beckham is showing no signs of taking it easy as it’s rumoured that she’s planning her own high-street collection. Fingers crossed that she will!
