The shows kick off this week, and the models are already in town. Among the Rachel Rutts and the Ruby-Jeans, here are five newcomers making their Australian Fashion Week debut.
Montana Cox
For some reason taking out the title of Next Top Model is generally more lucrative in Australia than it is in the Northern Hemisphere. Testament to that theory is 2011 winner Montana Cox, the Melbourne stunner who has just come back from a casual fling in Milan and Paris parading for the likes of Chanel, Pucci, Lanvin and Dior. Pretty good considering she’s only been doing runway for a matter of months. Back home Cox is signed with Chic Management, and will make her Australia Fashion Week debut alongside fellow ANTM winner Alice Burdeu.

Olivia Lefebre
Someone on the Internet has compared MBFWA’s token Kiwi Olivia Lefebre to Kendall Jenner, which doesn’t really do her any justice at all. The 17-year-old is a little bit Cook Islander, a little bit Dutch and a whole lot stunning (check out those freckles). She’s with 62 Models back home and has recently signed to Chic in Sydney for her first fashion week across the ditch. Hopefully all the Australian models are being really nice to her, because how adorable is her smile?

Claire Collins
How does this even happen? Bentleigh knockout Claire Collins has never walked a show at Australia Fashion Week but has already caught the discerning eye of Karl Lagerfeld, walking for Chanel during Paris Fashion Week in what was only her second major show. She recently signed with IMG overseas (along wither her birthday twin and fellow rising star Jena Hall), though she’ll be appearing at MBFWA under Chadwick.

Katerina Chang
Katerina Chang is the 21-year-old Taiwanese stunner who commanded the catwalks of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. She studied a marketing degree at the University of Western Sydney before signing with Chadwick Models in July last year, has since been shot for Harper’s Bazaar Singapore and Grazia Australia, and has cheekbones that could cut bulletproof glass.

Lydia Hunt
Pillow-lipped Lydia Hunt looks like a less boring version of a Disney starlet, but don’t let her innocent air fool you. Since graduating from The Cathedral College she’s been mingling with Kanye at Paris Fashion Week parties, and is rumoured to have been on a date with a member of The Kooks. Hunt was scouted by Busy Models, the same agency to have discovered Codie Young two years ago, and has now been snapped up by Vivien’s Model Management.
