Cheryl Cole and Her Feathers Top the Fashion Ranks at Cannes
The 2012 Cannes Film Festival, aka the fashion mecca for A-list stars, is known to show off some of the most beautiful and stunning creations. While designers clamor to dress the hottest talent in the business, and photographers fight for the best shots of these celebs in their gorgeous one-of-a-kind gowns, the rest of the world waits patiently to find out who is the best dressed. While this is no official ranking of any kind, it's most likely the next best thing: Twitteratti's Best Dressed Celeb List.
While this ranking is definitely biased and not by any means accurate, according to mentions, tweets, and #hashtags, Britain's own Cheryl Cole takes the top spot. Cole, who wore a magnificant Stephane Rolland couture dress, made a showstopping entrance at Cannes that had the whole Twitterverse in a tweet frenzy. British Vogue asked its tweeps, "Diane Kruger, Jessica Chastain and @CherylCole – which is your favourite Cannes look from over the weekend?" Later on, the UK fashion mag answered its own question by tweeting, "Cannes' most dramatic gown? @CherylCole steps out in a Stephane Rolland couture dress with a full ostrich feather train." Instyle UK also proclaimed Cole a top fashionista by tweeting, "Cheryl Cole is our Look of the Day!" Not only did Cheryl get nonstop praise for her show-stopping white dress, Grazia Live tweeted, "Cheryl Cole Channels Kate Middleton With Glossy Hair and Smokey Eyes At Cannes 2012." A best dressed spot followed by a Kate Middleton comparison. The world is at your feet Cheryl.
Karl Lagerfeld Co-stars with Snoop Dog in a Rap Video
Now for one of the weirder fashion moments this week, Karl Lagerfeld plays a heavenly father in the St. Tropez rap video where he asks Snoop Dog and singer Jean-Roche, "You were never told that Saint-Tropez is paradise?" Yes, you heard right — now Karl can add rap video star to his already impressive resume which includes helming two of the biggest fashion houses in the world, being a renowned photographer, and of course BFF to the creme de la creme in fashion. So what did the Twitterverse think about Karl's latest gig? Fashionista.com tweeted, "Our minds our blown: Karl Lagerfeld and Snoop Dogg are starring together in an electropop music video in St. Tropez." Styleite added, "Karl Lagerfeld + Snoop Dogg = one bizarre music video." I couldn't agree more.
Karl Kicks Off Resort 2013 With a Crazy Bang

From Snoop to Chanel, it was indeed a very busy/sort-of-crazy week for Karl. The designer showcased Chanel's Resort 2013 collection at Versailles to an A-list crowd including Tilda Swinton, Haider Ackermann, and fashion writer Derek Blasberg. The collection brought out barely recognizable models in candy-colored wigs and quirky pastel looks that were very Marie Antoinette-meets-rock-n-roll. Vogue described the show, “As if Karl Lagerfeld had imagined what a teenage princess and her entourage might look like today.” Vogue Paris tweeted a picture of one of the looks (above) and added, "Karl Lagerfeld takes Marie-Antoinette to a garden rave party for the Chanel cruise collection 2013
#Chanel." The always fabulous Derek Blasberg gave his two cents describing the event as, "Chanel's resort show at Versailles has begun: Marie Antoinette in denim and Coco in creeper shoes, couture clown hips and wide pants!" Now onto the important question? How long until we can get ahold of those creeper shoes?
Kelly Cutrone Outs and Locks Up Former Assistant For Stealing
If it wasn't already obvious from watching The Hills, The City, and Kell on Earth, it's pretty safe to say that Kelly Cutrone can be pretty tough (putting it mildly) on her assistants. Despite the reality TV madness, Kelly has never locked any of them up—until now that is. Fashionista.com reported via tweet, "Yikes. Kelly Cutrone’s ex-assistant is getting arrested for allegedly stealing samples and money from People's Rev." Cutrone later confirmed this report by tweeting, "One of my old assistants is getting arrested this week for grand larceny – stealing money from People’s – cannot wait – revenge is sweet." If you thought Kelly's first tweet was harsh, you might want to take a seat as she publicly outs the criminal tweeting, "@HussyChildPlz you better run cause you are going down CLOWN." Antsy to see what's going to happen to Kelly's ex-assistant? We are too, so be sure to tune in to next week's Twitterati for more answers, accusations, and public humiliation. As to what lesson we've learned from this ordeal? "Don't steal from People's Revolution/Kelly Cutrone's former assistant is an idiot," warned Styleite.com.
