Discover Seekingwonderland: A Platform for Emerging Design Talent

In an age where the online retail sector is becoming more and more saturated, mainly with designs by established designers, the online fashion platform seekingwonderland.com aims to give young emerging design talent the opportunity to gain recognition and sell their goods. Yes, it’s all a bit ASOS marketplace-ish, but this also means that it’s another great way for fashion lovers to bag something that everyone shopping the mainstream doesn't have, hurrah!

Seekingwonderland is a niche Hong Kong-based retailer, and this month they are finally setting their sights on entering the UK fashion market. We have taken a look around their site to see which emerging British designers they are currently showcasing. Here’s a bit of info on some of our favourite finds.

Rebecca Torres

As a graduate from Caledonian University, Rebecca is a London-based fashion designer and stylist. Her brand is characterised by shapes and panels, and she aims to create feminine pieces that allow women to feel comfortable and embrace their curves. It’s also interesting to note that her inspiration stems from her youthful obsession with shows such as Batman and Robin, where the characters wore bright, Lycra-style clothing — an element which is definitely visible in her designs. Her current collection on seekingwonderland consists of some stunning stretch dresses, which are retailing around the £60- £90 mark.

RI By Carrie

Everybody has a pair of quirky tights put aside for those times when you’re feeling a little bit more daring than usual, and RI By Carrie’s tights tick all of the right boxes. Her tattoo style tights are based on her own sketches, and we think that they’re quite possibly the most creative tights that we’ve seen in a while. They usually cost around £23.50, which might be deemed a tad expensive for just one pair of tights, but rest assured, wear these babies and you’ll be sure to turn some heads.

Christopher Waller

Emerging designer Christopher Waller’s designs nod towards minimalism and modernity, with the aim of stripping down the silhouette yet capturing that essence of silent glamour. His collection starts at around £90, and encompasses a mixture of jerseys and silks in dusky pink, French navy, and sapphire blue.
